Iron and Sulfur Odor Filtration in Trempealeau, WI

Orange stains in the toilet bowl, a metallic taste or a rotten egg smell are signs that a basic carbon filter will not fix. Trempealeau, WI Whole House Water Filtration diagnoses and treats iron and sulfur odor problems in Trempealeau, WI homes as part of whole house water filtration.

Iron shows up in two forms. Clear water iron is dissolved and turns orange only after it hits air. Red water iron is already oxidized and shows up as particles. Each needs a different approach, from a sediment stage for particles to an oxidizing media tank for dissolved iron.

Hydrogen sulfide causes the rotten egg smell. If it only happens on the hot side, the water heater's magnesium anode rod may be reacting with the water, and swapping it for an aluminum zinc rod often solves it. If it is on both sides, the source is the supply, and catalytic carbon or an oxidizing filter is the usual fix.

We test before we recommend, since iron over a few parts per million can foul carbon fast and must be handled first.
